Spring Foraging & Herbal Medicine Saturday Walk at Green Man’s Garden
Due to popular demand, we have organised a walk on a SATURDAY at Green Man’s Garden!
Have you ever wondered what wild foods and healing herbs grow right under your feet in your spring garden?
Join me for a guided foraging and herbal walk through the beautiful and biodiverse setting of Green Man’s Garden, a pesticide-free, working market garden nestled in Conna, County Cork.
As we wander through the lovely cultivated beds and wild hedges, I’ll guide you in recognising edible and medicinal plants, sharing both traditional and modern uses, as well as a few threads of Irish myth and folklore woven in along the way. It’s a space to connect with nature, the land, and old knowledge in a grounded, welcoming way.
Details:
- The walk will last a minimum of two hours
- Please wear sturdy footwear and dress for the weather — the ground is uneven in parts and this is a working garden
- Bring a notebook and pen if you’d like to take notes
- Roger’s veg shop will be open on the day — cash only if you’d like to pick up some fresh produce
Booking is essential — places are limited and must be reserved in advance. If you need to cancel, please give at least three days’ notice to allow time for your spot to be offered to someone else. You can view the Frequently Asked Questions below.
Note: While this event is not designed for young children, under-12s are welcome to come along for free but they must remain under supervision at all times so as not to damage crops, and please do get in touch beforehand to let me know as spaces are limited.
Let the plants guide your path and the stories stir your roots come see what’s growing.

What should I bring to a foraging walk or herbal workshop?
Where workshops are held outside, please ensure you bring suitable clothing for weather changes and shoes you aren’t worried about.I always advise a backpack with some water and snacks, especially if you are attending an event that doesn’t cater food (e.g. foraging walks). If you want to make notes (there can be a lot of information), bring a pad and pen (or your phone).
-
Are your events suitable for beginners?
Yes! And beginners are more than welcome. I adapt to my audience and no question asked during a workshops is a bad question. Interaction is welcomed!
-
Do I need to book in advance?
Yes. Because of the nature of some workshops, or because some can be quite popular, I request that bookings are made in advance (and paid online or agreed to be paid via cash). For workshops, I do ask for a non-refundable deposit since I rely on fully booked workshops to cover my costs.
-
Are your events suitable for children or families?
Yes, children are very welcome at most foraging walk events, and under-12s can join free of charge! However, they must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times, as I’m not able to take responsibility for their care or supervision during the walk. Please be sure to include them in your booking so I can plan for numbers accordingly. Please note that workshops and herb talks are designed for adults and may include more advanced content or sensitive topics, so they’re not generally suitable for children. If you need to bring your child, to a workshop, please let me know in advance.
-
What happens in bad weather?
Most events will run as usual despite even if there is a little rain forcast However, if there is a storm, heavy winds, torrential rain due on the day of the walk, it may be cancelled. In that case I will reschele the walk. If you can’t make it I will of course refund anything you have paid or you can book into another event.
-
What is your cancellation policy?
For foraging walks you can cancel 3 days ahead of the walk. This allows some time for me to find someone else to join the walk
