Frequently Asked Questions
And don’t hesitate to contact me if you don’t get your answer here !
What should I bring to a foraging walk or herbal workshop?
Where workshops are held outside, please ensure you bring suitable clothing for weather changes and shoes you aren’t worried about.
I always advise a backpack with some water and snacks, especially if you are attending an event that doesn’t cater food (e.g. foraging walks).
If you want to make notes (there can be a lot of information), bring a pad and pen (or your phone).
Do I need to book in advance?
Yes. Because of the nature of some workshops, or because some can be quite popular, I request that bookings are made in advance (and paid online or agreed to be paid via cash). For workshops, I do ask for a non-refundable deposit since I rely on fully booked workshops to cover my costs.
Are your events suitable for children or families?
Yes, children are very welcome at most foraging walk events, and under-12s can join free of charge! However, they must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times, as I’m not able to take responsibility for their care or supervision during the walk. Please be sure to include them in your booking so I can plan for numbers accordingly.
Please note that workshops and herb talks are designed for adults and may include more advanced content or sensitive topics, so they’re not generally suitable for children. If you need to bring your child, to a workshop, please let me know in advance.
What happens in bad weather?
Most events will run as usual despite even if there is a little rain forcast
However, if there is a storm, heavy winds, torrential rain due on the day of the walk, it may be cancelled. In that case I will reschele the walk. If you can’t make it I will of course refund anything you have paid or you can book into another event.
Can you run a workshop at our venue or event?
Absolutely! I am always looking for new locations, businesses & venues to team up with, both outdoors and indoors. Simply contact me to express your interest!
Are your events suitable for beginners?
Yes! And beginners are more than welcome. I adapt to my audience and no question asked during a workshops is a bad question. Interaction is welcomed!
Where are the workshops and walks held?
I run foraging walks, plant medicine and wildcrafting workshops throughout Ireland though my main focus is in County Cork, Kerry, Waterford and Tiperary.
Do you run private workshops or group events?
Yes, I do beginner and advanced private walks, talks or workshops both for personal or corporate events. Feel free to contact me to enquire.
Will I get to take home anything I make?
If you are involved in a half or full day workshop then you will most likely be bringing something back.
That’s to say that on foraging walks, depending on the location, gathering might be restricted or unsustainable (for particular plants) so it’s important listen to any guidelines during the walk.
What is your cancellation policy?
For foraging walks you can cancel 3 days ahead of the walk. This allows some time for me to find someone else to join the walk.
Since half or full day workshops are more exclusive, with less attendees, and resources are usually needed (ingredients, herbs, bottles, equipment etc…), so you will have paid a non-refundable deposit during your booking. Though feel free to contact me if there is an issue and I will see what I can do (reschedule or put on another event etc…).
